Just keep walking,
walk until you can run,
then run and chase the muse.
End of Semester Send Off
It’s the end of the semester!! This post will wrap up all my semester research with surfaces and clay bodies. Time for a wrap up in order to kick off the summer.

Slowing Down, Reevaluating, and Planning
This past week was a blur—it’s that end of semester kinda vibe.
Testing Notes
I have minimal knowledge about formulating clay bodies and no experience with creating new/variant clay bodies. So, I wanted to start with a couple base recipes that I really liked to work with.

Set-Backs Are Hard, But They Make Great Learning Moments
I lost my big project due to a silly mistake…not because of thin walls. However, after much review, I will start to build thicker as I go bigger (to the joy of many peers).

What a Blur
Last week is a blur. A lot of are still recovering from NCECA (physically, emotionally, and social battery).

Unload, Sale, Install, NCECA…Full Throttle for Two Weeks
The week started off with a great surface and throwing demo by Stephanie Galli. She went into great detail about how she was able to produce her beautiful color gradients.
Started The Week With a 24hr Shift And It Only Got Better From There
The title doesn’t lie.
Ups and Downs, Truly Experiencing the Rollercoaster
This past week has been filled with many lows and just as many highs. The soda firing on Monday did not go that well.

Test, Test, and Test Again…
This past week was preparing for the cone 6 soda firing. This firing is made up of two tests along with a multitude of glaze experiments.
Check, Check…Something New?
Deadlines are rearing their heads!! One week for the cone 6 soda and two for the wood. So, what better time to start checking off that to do list that I made last week.

Too Many Ideas and Not Enough Time
We’re about a month into the semester and that has given me too much time to think of new ideas.

Deadlines Deadlines Deadlines!!!
I spent last week finalizing and submitting my last graduate application. Now its only a waiting game.
Thinking Big
Over winter break, I discovered a bucket of unused cone 10 sculptural clay. It was still malleable with lots of nice mold growing in it—just waiting to be used.
