Deadlines Deadlines Deadlines!!!

I spent last week finalizing and submitting my last graduate application. Now its only a waiting game.

I’m going to take a 2 week break from other applications because many of the deadlines are either way too close or quite far off. Also, I really want to focus on the studio right now.

But speaking of upcoming deadlines…kiln season is about to begin!! February is a big month for myself and others in the studio because things have dried, been bisqued, and only await final firing. The first firing that I’m going to take apart in is a cone 6 residual firing. This is all new territory for me because I’ve never fired to cone 6 nor have I not sprayed soda into a soda firing. I’ll be excited to see what the results are. The other big firing is a wood fire at the end of the month. Pushing through my tables and starting on accompanying pots for them.

Behind that future planning was a lot of slow drying and carving for me. I also got help from Molly to flip my table top so that I can start building up my support network.
