Check, Check…Something New?
Deadlines are rearing their heads!! One week for the cone 6 soda and two for the wood. So, what better time to start checking off that to do list that I made last week. My black and white series pots have been bisqued and I am playing around with their orientations/relationships with one another. The table top has finally dried out enough to carve and inlay. Fun fact - I was able find a more appropriately sized board for that piece, an old cupboard door. Talking about drying, the legs have evened out and stiffened enough to start testing fit. There is gap where the legs meet in the middle, but I can’t go back now to add more clay and I am too afraid to chase the edge down because I would be sacrificing stability. My current thought is to make a cap piece that will seat there, but I am pushing that off to another day (I will return!!) because other pressing matters are at hand. Lastly, Brown Bear and I are finally over out little spat. We were fighting for the past two weeks. I was rusty on the wheel and it was too plastic. However, we have made up and we produced some fun cup sets for the soda. Excited for the upcoming weeks filled with firings and all new surfaces.
New Canvas!! According to Brian, the canvas to the right is over 10 years old.
