Wood Fire Week!
The weekend started off with a great Dirtbags sale! Sarah and I set up shop in the Baxter Lane Quills with the help of Max. We sold about half our stock and made a 1300 dollar profit that will help us get to NCECA.
The weekend end with a mad dash to reglaze all my work. Honestly, I was quite grateful about the unfortunate accident. The reset pushed me to play more with my designs and to explore other motifs. I became a little comfortable with my painting, so the mishap really pushed me beyond my comfort limits.
We started the week off with a rocky load that lead to a lot of ingenuity. I mislead one of my classmates with a outlandish theory that was thankfully caught by Brian. After a conversation with Sam, Molly ended up going with a rice hull and ash mixture. Fingers crossed about the results. I hit a barrier with how many plates I wanted to fire at once. It got me to be a little creative with how I loaded them. I was excited to get a lot of work into the kiln.
Ended the week with an amazing firing that might have accidentally peaked around cone 13.
