Big Changes are Around the Corner
A lot happened this week and it kinda blindsided me.
The week started off with some interviews with a couple prospective graduate schools. I was excited by them because the schools reached out a lot sooner than last year. Then in the middle of the week I received some massive news! I was truly floored and honored by the news. But then I was gutted by some harsh realities. So, I went into deep thought and a lot of pros and cons lists. I contacted many old and new friends, mentors, and professors to really parse out the truth and what was best for me. After a week of no sleep, I finally made my decision and was confident in it.
Studio wise, I was not very active. My mind was preoccupied and I lost some steam. I finished the dragon teapots and I want to play with some others soon. Otherwise, the tests begin. Joe Pintz sent Brian some Endicott brick clay and I whipped up his recipe to test. I’m quite excited by this because the color is reminiscent of the discolored clay I was using. Lastly, I jumped into making a color palate of iron rich terra sigs.
I’m giving myself the goal of a soda firing during the first week in March to motivate myself.
