At the Precipice of the Semester

Really hit my stride with studio things. How long can I keep this up?

This was a big week in the studio as a whole because of our Empty Bowls event and the big clean up day. Empty bowls was a real success with how last minute everything came together.

I also finally got some breathing room mid way through the week to take in some of my surfaces from my soda firing and down fire. When I unloaded, I was quite disappointed, but sitting with the work and especially after cleaning up the surface with a light sand, Iā€™m coming around to the results.

Kade and I also loaded our final soda before crit. I rushed a tea set with a new red clay body and I miraculously pulled off 6 mini bus stops studies. This is just a beginning but the bus stops are really exciting me in how they can be implemented as finials or expanded upon to larger stands or place settings. Ultimately, I was able to keep pace up to the very end!
