Documenting and Updating

Not a lot of studio work this week. Tackling a new form leads to a lot of failures, but I am learning and excited to try them again this coming week. I’m trying to throw a larger tray as a lid to a raised bowl basin. I keep losing my pieces during the trimming and/or drying process. I’m still learning the new drying rate of my studio, especially with the heat coming on. My current thoughts for reiterating is to throw everything a little thicker for bone dry support and hopefully for firing strength as well as being more attentive with the drying while utilizing foam support for the flip.

In addition to studio work, I took a drive up 65 to Indianapolis to drop off some work at there art center. The facilities were very impressive. They had a sculpture garden behind the center and they are right off a river front. A really cool pocket of the Indianapolis area.

Finally getting around to documenting my last couple months of work and updating everything. All in preparation for application season which starts at the first of the month.

Lots of finishing up studio pots and glazing in preparation for an upcoming sale.
