Playing A-Round

Slowing down this week…not burning out, but refocusing. It’s time to:

  1. Crank out bisques—RIP Darwin (one of our electric kilns). We’re cycling through the whole studio with just to electric kilns

  2. Liner glazes and testers—the repetitive pour and pour of Hensley clear disrupted by a couple fun glaze testers.

  3. Dip bricks—let’s taunt frostbite by dunking our hands into kiln wash 100+ times.

  4. Wedge wadding—hmm, I love making and modify a good Newman Red batch

  5. Mix up slips—Newman red and porcelain based slips are lovely.

Even with all the preparations, I still like to play around with ideas. Just making without the intention of keeping the pot.
